Newly released FBI documents show FBI harassed Socialist Workers party for decade with efforts to have members dismissed from their jobs, with leaks to news media of unsavory ??? about their personal lives and attempts to press petty prosecutions; documents are released as result of ct order in civil suit brought in Fed Dist Ct, NYC; documents include information on 41 operations of FBI's Counterintellgence Program against party; despite 3 decades of intensive investigation and at least 1 period, from '61 to '71, of covert efforts to destroy party and frighten its members, there is no indication that FBI brought any charges; most of investigations of party and its members appear to have been conducted under authority of Fed statutes covering rebellion and insurrection, seditious conspiracy advocating overthrow of Govt, Internal Security Act of '50 and Communist Control Act of '54; documents reveal several operations where FBI secretly tried to bring members of party under local police and state pressure; FBI made several attempts to put pressure on party members who were not connected with pol activity or a given party function; papers show there was constant attempt to disrupt internally the party's activities and to put it against other orgns in left and civil rights movement (L)
