John Clayton Mayer (Bridgeport, 16 ottobre 1977) è un cantautore e chitarrista statunitense.
Approdato ad uno stile a metà fra pop rock e blues dopo un esordio più acustico, nella sua carriera da solista ha pubblicato otto album in studio, cinque EP e tre live, vendendo complessivamente 20 milioni di dischi.
Ha vinto ben sette Grammy Awards, tra cui uno nella categoria "canzone dell'anno" per il brano Daughters.
Ѐ inoltre membro del supergruppo Dead & Company (in compagnia degli ex componenti dei Grateful Dead Bob Weir, Mickey Hart e Bill Kreutzmann) e del gruppo blues rock John Mayer Trio.
