Robert Clarence Irwin (born 1 December 2003) is an Australian conservationist, zookeeper, wildlife photographer, and television personality. The son of conservationists Steve and Terri Irwin, he manages Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Queensland, and is frequently involved in activities that his father, Steve Irwin originally participated in.
Irwin starred in and co-produced the Animal Planet television series Crikey! It's the Irwins (2018–2022) with his mother and older sister, Bindi. He currently co-hosts the Network 10 entertainment program I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here alongside Julia Morris, which earned him Logie Award nominations for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television and Most Popular Presenter. Irwin also won the thirty-fourth season of the American competition series Dancing with the Stars alongside Witney Carson.

Archipelago Holdings, the parent of the all-electronic Archipelago Exchange, said it planned to sell shares to the public for the first time next year. The company, which is based in Chicago, expects to file a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission in the next several months, a spokeswoman, Margaret Nagle, said. Archipelago began in 1997 after the Securities and Exchange Commission approved it as one of the first four electronic communications networks, or all-electronic trade-matching and order-routing systems. Goldman Sachs has the biggest stake among 14 Wall Street firms that invested in Archipelago.

Protein Design Labs Inc. settled a dispute with Genentech Inc. over payments for an experimental cancer treatment, Avastin, the companies said. Protein Design shares rose 23 percent. Genentech will license Avastin if the product wins regulatory approval, paying lower royalties than called for in a broader agreement signed earlier, the companies said. Protein Design will receive payments based on combined sales of Avastin and three other medicines. Terms of the accord were not disclosed. Protein Design is based in Fremont, Calif., and Genentech is based in San Francisco.

Icad Inc., a maker of computer-assisted medical tests, said that it would buy CADx Systems Inc. and its parent, Qualia Computing Inc., for about $30.6 million to expand its business. Icad, which is based in Nashua, N.H., said it would issue 4.3 million shares of its common stock, representing 16 percent of the outstanding shares after the merger. The company will also pay $1.55 million in cash and issue a $4.5 million promissory note to buy Qualia shares held by two institutional investors. The companies have collectively installed more than 300 systems that detect breast cancer in early stages, Icad said. CADx is based in Beavercreek, Ohio.

First Community Bancorp, the holding company for Pacific Western National Bank and First National Bank, agreed to buy Harbor National Bank for $35.5 million to add customers in Orange County, Calif. First Community, based in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., said it would pay about $13.28 a share for Harbor National after all outstanding stock options were cashed out. That is 8.4 percent less than Harbor National's closing price of $14.50 on Wednesday, when the shares last traded. Harbor National is based in Newport Beach, Calif.. First Community had 32 branches and $2.4 billion in assets as of Sept. 30.

The wireless equipment maker Powerwave Technologies said yesterday that it had agreed to acquire LGP Allgon Holding of Sweden in a $407 million deal to create a company that can offer customers a broader range of wireless infrastructure gear. The transaction is expected to add to Powerwave's earnings per share in the first full quarter after its completion and to result in savings of at least $15 million a year, according to a news release. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2004. Shares of Powerwave, which makes power amplifiers used in wireless communications networks, fell 17 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $7.28. Trading in shares of LGP Allgon, which makes products to improve radio coverage, capacity and data speed in mobile communications networks and employs 1,400 people, was suspended on the Stockholm stock exchange.
