relations between Miami's morning Herald and afternoon News have been severely strained in recent days by series of developments stemming from Fed grand jury rept that has not yet been released; News has attempted, since learning of rept's existence, to have it suppressed, modified, expunged and, finally, released; has accused grand jury of tampering with press freedom; Herald, which shares ad and printing facilities with News but not reporters or editors, has called for immediate release of rept and has termed News's efforts threat to public's right to know; at same time, Herald has joined News in News's effort to defend itself in $5-million libel suit resulting from stories about IRS investigation, known as Operation Leprechaun (S)
